Area Orientation
Where the individual or family have limited or no knowledge of the new area,an area orientation is recommended.
Service Specification:
- An initial discussion to identify the family's requirements.
- The family will be shown those areas which best suit their lifestyle, budget and other relevant criteria; such as proximity to the office, transport links, proximity to schools and access to local amenities.
- The family will be shown a variety of properties covering the different residential areas that meet their housing requirements.
- The family will also be provided with an area information pack.
Benefits to the client
- An area orientation can help the employee decide whether or not to accept the move. This cautionary approach reduces the likelihood of the assignment failing later on and wasting valuable time and money.
- Once suitable areas are identified the process of finding a new home for the employee becomes easier and therefore quicker, allowing the employee to focus on their new role sooner.

- Helps the individual or family identify a suitable residential area in which to search for a home.
- Can help reassure the individual or family that they are making the right decision to move.
